The Greater Westfield Chapter has the following course offerings. Each course listed features a brief description, the prerequisites (if any) and the time required for completion. CPR practice sessions require strenuous activity. All participants are required to practice on the floor with atraining manikin in order to receive a certification. If you have a medical condition that might prevent you from takingpart in the practice session, please discuss it with Health Services staff prior to class.  

Class size is limited. please enroll early.

The Greater Westfield Chapter reserves the right to cancel a course due to inclement weather or lack of enrollment.

Advanced registration is required and is on a first come, first serve basis.  If you need to cancel your class please call by 3:00 pm the day of the course so that you can transfer to the next available date. No Refunds Given.

This course reviews skills for choking, breathing emergencies, CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator for adults, infants, and children. Certification valid for one year. Recommended for individuals with a current CPR certification.

This course trains individuals to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants. Adult and child use of an Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is also taught in this course. Adult/AED, Infant & Child CPR certifications valid for one year. Add Standard First Aid (see available dates below) for an additional $20.00.

CPR/AED For The Professional Rescuer - Fee: $85.00 - 8 hours
To teach professional rescuers (those with a duty to respond to an emergency situation Nurses/Nursing students, EMT) the skills necessary to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies for adult, infant and children, including the use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac arrest, Preventing Disease Transmission, and Oxygen Administration. Certification valid for 1 year.

Lay Responder First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course - $85.00 - 32 hours
The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach First Aid and CPR/AED. Instructor candidates must enter this course with a current knowledge of Adult CPR, Child CPR, Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid. Instructor candidates must be at least 17 years of age, pass each section of the precourse written examination with a score or 80% or better, and demonstrate competency in the skills evaluation. Includes Fundamentals of Instructor Training (F.I.T.).

Babysitter's Training - Fee: $25.00 - 7 hours

The purpose of this course is to provide individuals, ages 11 to 15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership and professionalism, basic care, safety and safe play, and basic first aid.
